The Federal Office of Culture (Bundesamt für Kultur) honours Sheila Hicks: a little bit of a lot of things as one of “The Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2025”
The Federal Office of Culture (Bundesamt für Kultur) has selected the publication Sheila Hicks: a little bit of a lot of things, designed by Hubertus Design (Jonas Voegeli and Kerstin Landis), as one of the winners of the competition “The Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2025.” This distinction recognises the publication’s excellence in both design and content.
The now award-winning catalogue was published on the occasion of Sheila Hicks’s exhibition, held at the Kunstmuseum St.Gallen from February 4 to May 14, 2023, and offers a comprehensive insight into the work of this internationally renowned American artist.
Out of a total of 388 submitted publications that met the eligibility criteria, the Federal Jury selected 17 titles for awards. The award acknowledges outstanding achievements in the conception, design, and production of books in Switzerland.
The winning titles will also participate in the international competition “Best Book Design from All Over the World” in Leipzig. The official announcement of the winners took place on March 12, 2026, as part of a press event in Leipzig.
The annual distinction “The Most Beautiful Swiss Books,” awarded by the Federal Office of Culture, recognises publications that stand out for their exceptional design, typographic, and production quality, thereby providing an important impetus for Swiss book and design culture.
