Loudeye to Power Sweden's Largest Legal Music Download Service

Seattle (ots/PRNewswire)

- Homedownloads.se Launches in Sweden With Introductory Pricing of
5 Crowns per Track; Represents First Store in Sweden Powered by
Loudeye's OD2 Services
Loudeye Corp. (Nasdaq: LOUD), a worldwide leader in
business-to-business digital media solutions, today announced it was
chosen by Home Entertainment AB, the Nordic region's largest
mail-order/e-tailing business within movies, music and multimedia, to
power a privately branded digital music download store located at
www.homedownloads.se. The launch represents the expansion of
Loudeye's services into Sweden -- the 18th country in which Loudeye
provides music services.
Homedownloads.se, powered by Loudeye's OD2 services, is live today
and features music from major and independent labels. With more than
300,000 tracks, Homedownloads.se is the largest legal download
service in Sweden and will be offering downloads for the special
introductory price of 5 Swedish crowns for a limited time.
"Loudeye's OD2 services were critical in ensuring the launch of
our music store in time for the important holiday shopping season,"
says Niklas Orup, Home Entertainment AB. "By working with OD2, we
were able to focus on integrating a music store into our business,
and not have to worry about the intricacies of the deployment itself.
Additionally, OD2 will maintain content updates on a regular basis
and help grow the size of our catalog, which will add further value
for music fans in Sweden."
Among the tracks available are pre-releases of Kylie Minogue's "I
Believe in You," Erasure's "Breathe" and "Galvanise" from The
Chemical Brothers.
"With the holiday shopping season right around the corner and
portable music players expected to be one of the hottest gifts of the
year, companies such as Home Entertainment are able to work with us
to rapidly launch a store and begin to create early brand affinity
with consumers in their region," said Charles Grimsdale, president
and general manager of Loudeye's international business operations.
