Munich, March 04, 2004 - Advanced Medien AG (ISIN DE-0001262186, SIN 126218) today announced that it has won the bidding procedure for the purchase of a company operating in the film licensing business. In the bidding, Advanced Medien beat out competition from the US and Great Britain. The ensuing contract negotiations will be held exclusively between Advanced Medien AG and the bank handling the sale. Execution of the contract is scheduled for late March. All parties agreed not to disclose the identity of the company that is up for sale before all negotiations have been successfully completed.
The company that is up for sale is domiciled in Germany and has a US subsidiary. Revenues in fiscal 2003 were approximately EUR 20 million. The company is engaged in a niche sector of the national and international film licensing business and has a total of 30 employees. After the conclusion of all negotiations, the chief executive officer of the company is supposed to be appointed to the management board of Advanced Medien AG. The company's main business field will become the core business field of Advanced Medien AG. Post-merger plans call for further expansion to solidify and develop the market position in this niche sector.
