PICTURE THIS – IRELAND / RED LIGHTS:

Picture This has established themselves as an acclaimed band known for their compelling songwriting and electrifying performances. Their ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with powerful melodies has garnered them a devoted global fan base. "Red Lights / Ireland" is a testament to their unwavering connection to their roots.

‘For the ‘Ireland’ music video we wanted to capture the true essence of how it felt for us growing up hanging out with friends so we went on a road trip along the beautiful west coast of Ireland and filmed almost a documentary style video.   We captured footage of ourselves having a sing song in pubs and going surfing and playing football on the beach, and driving with the windows down in the car. Some real staples of growing up in Ireland.

As well as that we filmed a breathtaking performance on the Cliffs Of Moher which was a surreal experience.   To stand atop the most beautiful and mesmerising view we’ve ever seen in our lives that’s right in the heart of our country and perform a song called Ireland felt like such a full circle moment and we were bursting with pride.’

Ryan Hennessy, singer of Picture This on “IRELAND”: “Ireland’ really is a song about euphoric youthful summers. We grew up in a rural town in Ireland that meant we had so much time and space in our hands and at our feet.

When I think of my experience of summer in Ireland I think of long days of explorations through fields and beaches and mountains paired with long nights of sweaty sticky dance floors and pubs.

There was a beautiful innocence and simplicity to those summers, falling deeply in love with people and life and where we are from and being forged into the individuals we are today by our surroundings.

“I wish I was in Ireland” has many meanings. I’ve felt that physical homesickness on tour or while travelling the world but it also has a metaphorical value.

The Ireland that I grew up in is not the same Ireland that exists today and I am not the same person so in that line I am saying I wish I was in that Ireland! When I was young and carefree and had nothing to do and nowhere to be!

Young or old, here or abroad, I hope you can all relate to this song and feel and smell your home when you hear it.”

RÓISÍN MURPHY – FADER

“Fader” from her highly anticipated upcoming album ‘Hit Parade’, produced in collaboration with electronic music auteur DJ Koze eloquently blurs genre and pushes sonic boundaries across its vivid and captivating runtime.

Presented in striking black and white - influenced by classic Hip-Hop videos of the early 90s – and also conceptualized by Murphy, who continues to steer all the creative direction of each of her projects, the “Fader” visual enlists the help of 150 Arklow locals, with the roads of Murphy’s hometown being closed off to recreate a street parade bursting with verve and life. Weaving through a troop of Irish dancers, majorettes, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and a brass band in tow, Murphy's creative vision is brought to vivid life across the full track’s runtime. Having grown up in the town and leaving as a child to travel the world, it is difficult not to tap into Murphy’s sense of unification and fulfilment, shining a light on the brilliant people of Arklow.

Murphy delves into the inspirations and process in her own words: “This idea came to me partly in reaction to making such surreal and ‘other’ imagery for the album artwork, and partly in response to the track itself. I felt I needed a totally authentic space in which to perform Fader. The song is about life & death & music and so I went home to where it all started for me.  Just as in the music there’s a huge HipHop influence on the video and for me to have the sheer front for that, it needed to ring true and so my home town, Arklow was in fact, the only option. It was a huge task to take on, connecting with local government counsellors because we had to close the high street and then, with local groups of all kinds, musicians, dancers, scouts, majorettes, farmers, fishermen etc and much of my family... doing something like this is a massive responsibility and it threatened to overwhelm me at times. But on the day we had Hollywood sunshine and just an incredible sense of goodwill. The people of Arklow made me so proud. It truly turned out to be one of best days of life…”
