Astrasana Group receives Swissmedic license for the cultivation of medical cannabis

Zurich (ots)

The Astrasana Group is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Astrasana Pharma AG, has been granted the official cultivation license for medical cannabis by Swissmedic. This authorization permits the controlled cultivation of cannabis plants with a THC content above 1% and marks an important milestone in the expansion of the Group's pharmaceutical activities.

With the cultivation license granted to Astrasana Pharma AG, the GDP and narcotics licenses held by Bogen Pharma AG in Switzerland, and the fully licensed Astrasana Pharma s.r.o. in the Czech Republic, the Astrasana Group is ideally positioned internationally to actively shape the medical cannabis landscape in Europe.

Cultivation in Switzerland will take place on behalf of Bogen Pharma AG, which is responsible for the processing and distribution of medical cannabis to pharmacies and healthcare institutions.

"This license represents another strategic milestone in the history of our group," said Yves Antoniazzi, CEO of the Astrasana Group. "With our internationally coordinated structure and fully licensed subsidiaries, we are well equipped to play a leading role in the two most dynamic growth markets for medical cannabis in Europe - Switzerland and the Czech Republic."

Since its founding, the Astrasana Group has pursued a vertically integrated approach, covering every step of the value chain - from cultivation to processing and distribution. The newly granted cultivation license is further confirmation of the Group's consistent regulatory and operational development.
