Netherlands (ots/PRNewswire)

Leaders discuss supply chain optimization's critical role in a competitive

metals marketplace

Quintiq, a global leader in supply chain planning and optimization (SCP&O), hosted the Quintiq Metals Executives Meeting, which focused on SCP&O best practices. Representatives from two leading European metals companies, Italian steel company Acciaierie Bertoli Safau (ABS) and Greek aluminum producer ELVAL, shared their insights and experiences increasing productivity and enhancing efficiency to excel in a turbulent, worldwide economy and how to move ahead even during financial turmoil. The 20 executive participants represented 11 leading companies in the steel, aluminum, steel service center and special steel industries. Key discussion topics included:

- The missing piece of the profit economy
- Supply chain optimization: Gaining a competitive edge in the metals market
- Business Process Re-Engineering and Project Management for SCP&O Projects

Quintiq hosted the event at a critical time for the metals industry. To remain competitive in an uncertain global marketplace, metallurgical industry players must solve supply chain and production process challenges. Streamlining complex processes is vital to a metal company's ability to cope with the impact of constantly changing situations.

"This was a very successful event, offering attendees insight into highly relevant, detailed best practices from esteemed industry speakers," said Francois Eijgelshoven, vice president of EMEA at Quintiq. "It was a dynamic environment where participants had the chance to discuss specific, real-world challenges and network with industry peers. We're looking forward to hosting an even more informative and highly attended event next year."
