Important Information for Dutch Claimants in the Ahold Securities Class Action Settlement

New York (ots/PRNewswire)

Entwistle & Cappucci LLP, Lead
Plaintiffs' counsel appointed by the United States District Court for
the District of Maryland, issues this informational release
concerning claims submitted to participate in the settlement of the
class action against Royal Ahold N.V. ("Ahold") in the United States.
Beginning in December 2006, approximately 16% of Dutch claimants
in the Ahold settlement received deficiency notices (the "First
Deficiency Notice") from The Garden City Group -- the Court-appointed
Claims Administrator -- indicating that certain information needed to
substantiate their claim was missing or incomplete. Approximately one
half of Dutch claimants who received the First Deficiency Notice have
now corrected their claims.
Today, the Claims Administrator will begin mailing an additional
deficiency notice (the "Second Deficiency Notice") to Dutch claimants
who have not responded to the First Deficiency Notice. The Second
Deficiency Notice will provide Dutch claimants with an additional
period of sixty (60) days to correct their claims. Because the Second
Deficiency Notice will provide a final date by which claimants can
correct deficient claims, all people who receive the Second
Deficiency Notice are encouraged to act as quickly as possible to
correct identified problems.
We understand that claimants may need help to ensure that they are
submitting all of the correct documentation. For this reason,
claimants are reminded and encouraged to direct all questions
regarding the process or individual claims to the Claims
Administrator in the United States by email at
Questions@AholdSettlement.com or by telephone to the international
call center toll-free at 00-800-1020-4060 or via toll call at
001-941-906-4864. The best time for Dutch claimants to call is
between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. CET. The Claims Adminstrator is
prepared to answer your questions in Dutch or in English.
