aleo solar AG today announced the
establishment of its wholly-owned subsidiary aleo solar North America
Inc. to strengthen its presence in the North American photovoltaic
market. The company is headquartered in Westminster, Colorado. Robert
Schwarzinger, Executive Vice President, prepared aleo solar's North
American market entry and coordinated the setup of the local sales
organization. "North America offers outstanding potential for
residential and commercial rooftop photovoltaic systems and PV power
plants. As a German premium manufacturer, the USA's commitment to
renewable energy sources offers us a first-class business
environment," explains Schwarzinger.
By mid 2008, aleo solar had already entered into a successful
partnership in Mexico with the DESMEX Group, a Mexican project
developer and installer. DESMEX Group founder and director John von
Frantzius comments: "Our flagship 175-kilowatt rooftop installation
on a Walmart supermarket in Aguascalientes, a project we completed
with our partner aleo solar, has demonstrated that photovoltaic
systems are a worthwhile investment for covering one's own energy
needs. Additionally, we have recently installed and commissioned a
200-kilowatt commercial rooftop aleo system in Mexico." The DESMEX
Group is the primary partner for aleo solar within Mexico, and both
companies are currently working on a survey of the optimum system
solutions to suit a variety of climate zones in Mexico.
aleo solar exhibits at all key North American solar trade fairs, most
recently in Buffalo (New York). Upcoming events include Intersolar
North America in San Francisco in July and Solar Power 2009 in
Anaheim, California in October - the largest US industry event of its
kind. The Californian market in particular is of increasing interest
to aleo solar: some 200 kilowatts of aleo modules have found their
way onto residential and commercial Californian rooftops in recent
weeks. "The Northeastern US is also an interesting region for us.
Conditions for operating photovoltaic facilities are excellent in the
states of New York and New Jersey: we're expecting a lot of growth
here. Additionally, the Canadian province of Ontario has feed-in
legislation based on the German model. Accordingly, the Northeast in
particular offers solid opportunities as we expand distribution via
our aleo power network," concludes Robert Schwarzinger.
aleo modules are UL certified in the US and Canada.
