Contracts

Karlsruhe (euro adhoc) - Karlsruhe/Montreal, 20 February 2013. One of the
largest public transport projects in Canada is currently being launched by
Société de Transport de Montréal (STM). The leading transit authority in the
second most important eco-nomic region in Canada, is modernising and enhancing
its operations in the upcoming years with a three-digit million expenditure. At
the heart of this is an innovative fleet management system for STM's
approximately 1,900 vehicles and a real-time information service via displays,
announcements, Internet and smart phones for the more than 400 million
passengers per year. The system will be supplied and installed by the Canadian
subsidiary of the worldwide leading supplier, init innovation in traffic systems
AG (headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany). The order volume will be about EUR 45
million according to the contract modalities currently specified. It is
therefore the largest individual order in the history of the Karlsruhe-based
telematics specialist.

Sixth major project for init in Canada
"It was a difficult but fair competitive tendering process for this innovative
technology project. Therefore, we are very happy that STM is placing the order
with us and has put their confidence in init", emphasises Mrs. Nathalie Zaidi,
President and CEO of INIT Innovations in transportation Inc. (Eastern Canada).
"Managing the fleet of buses in real time will help to improve STM operations
and planning."

init has excellent references in Canada. Montreal is now the sixth major
telematics project implemented for Canadian local transport companies. Up to
now, the biggest was on the occasion of the 2010 Winter Olympics for TransLink
in Vancouver. This fleet management and information system received an
innovation award, as have other installations by init in Canada.

Montreal is a flagship project
The order that has now been placed with init for the so-called iBUS project
includes a fleet management and real-time passenger information system with
state-of-the-art vehicle location, on-board computers for all of the 1,900
vehicles, audible announcements and displays in the vehicles, displays at the
bus stops, and installation of a digital mobile radio system. Real-time
provision of data for online passenger information on the Internet, via mobile
phones and smart phone apps will be also integrated.
This means that, in the future, not only will STM's passengers know exactly when
their buses are arriving and therefore be able to better plan their journeys,
but the transport operator itself will also gain flexibility and transparency.
"It means that we will be informed in real time about the traffic situation as
well as the location and the status of the vehicles. This will enable us
reacting to disruptions. We can therefore increase the efficiency of vehicle
use", pointed out STM Senior Manager of Public Affairs Odile Paradis, speaking
to the press.

Following precise specification of the project and initial tests, the
installation of the iBUS system is to begin in 2014 and be completed two years
later.

"Montreal is an absolute flagship project for us. We are sure that STM will have
soon the most modern fleet management and real-time information system in North
America", comments CSO of init AG Dr. Jürgen Greschner.
