Nissan Europe Reports February Sales for 2008

Rolle, Switzerland (ots/PRNewswire)

Nissan Europe has
reported a record February with sales of 53,606 units,  representing
an increase of 65% year on year. Sales were up for the eleventh
consecutive month.
The Qashqai compact cross-over is celebrating its first
anniversary on  the European market and the success story continues
with yet again another  record month of 15,286 units. The first year
of sales recorded 148,534 units  meaning that one in four Nissan
models sold across Europe is now a Qashqai.
Following the introduction of the Tiida in Spain and Portugal in
February, the model sold 4,732 units and has now been fully launched
in  selected markets across Europe.
Key highlights
  • Both Micra and Note sales were up significantly year on year with 7,287 and 7,702 units sold in February respectively.
  • The new X-Trail sold 4,658 units this month and continues to perform in line with Nissan's expectations for the new model.
  • Sales in both Italy and France were up year on year with 5,800 and 4,778 units sold respectively in February.
  • Russia continues its impressive growth trend and sold 13,469 units this month, representing an increase of 128% compared to last year.
