Nissan Europe Reports June Sales

Nissan Europe reported total
sales of 57,778 vehicles (1) in June 2005, an increase of 10.1% over
the same month last year.
In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan
Europe sold 287,410 units, 0.8% up from last year.
Highlights by Country
  • Nissan in France sold 5,776 units in June, registering a 9% increase compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan sold 26,087 units in France, up by 3.4% compared to last year.
  • In Germany, Nissan sold 5,315 units in June, representing a decrease of 8.7% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan sold 27,229 units in Germany, 5.7% down from last year.
  • In Italy, Nissan sold 6,757 units in June, down 9.8% against last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan sales in Italy fell to 32,804 units, down by 25.4% compared to last year.
  • In Russia, Nissan sold 5,333 units in June, up 62.5% against last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan sales in Russia rose to 19,798 units, up by 91.8% compared to last year.
  • Nissan in Spain sold 7,302 units in June, up 16.8% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan sales in Spain rose to 36,814 units up by 10.8% compared to last year.
  • In the UK, Nissan sold 10,237 units, an increase of 5.8% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, Nissan's sales in the UK reached 54,901 units, up 1.5% compared to last year.
Model Highlights
  • The Micra sold 17,683 units in June representing an increase of 4.6% against the same month last year. In the six month period from January to June 2005, total Micra sales reached 86,729 units, down 5.3% compared to last year.
  • X-TRAIL sales decreased by 4.8% in June against the same month last year to 5,749 units. In the six month period from January to June 2005, total X-TRAIL sales reached 31,530 units, down by 4.4% compared to last year.
  • Pickup sales decreased by 18.8% in June against the same month last year to 3,362 units. In the six month period from January to June 2005, total Pickup sales reached 18,658 units, down 15.3% compared to last year
Nissan employs around 12,000 people in its European design,
research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and sales and
marketing operations. Last year, the company produced a total of
448,513 vehicles in its Spanish and British plants and sold 543,948
vehicles in Europe. Nissan Europe's Head Office is based in Trappes
(Paris), France.
