Frankfurt am Main, October 24, 2008 - AIG International Real Estate
GmbH & Co. KGaA (the "Company") decided today that as for the time
being it will not make any new investments and will seek to
return excess cash generated by its existing portfolio to
shareholders. The Group will continue to fund commitments
to existing investments and to existing funds in which it is an
investor. After reserving for such existing commitments, ongoing
operating expenses and the potential need for additional
capital contributions to existing investments, the Company will
seek to return proceeds to shareholders by way of share repurchases
and/or may recommend to shareholders to authorize dividend
payments at future shareholders meetings. As a result of the
decision to discontinue new investment activity until further
notice, the Company intends to terminate the Deal Sharing Agreement
that it currently has in place with AIG Global Real Estate
Investment Corp ("AIG Global Real Estate").The Company has also been informed by the shareholders of AIG
International Real Estate Geschäftsführungs- und Verwaltungs-
GmbH, its managing general partner ("AIRE GmbH"), that 100% of the
ownership interests in AIRE GmbH, will be transferred from existing
AIRE GmbH shareholders (AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp.
and AIG Private Bank Ltd.) to another member company of the AIG
Group. AIG Global Real Estate will continue to advise the Company
on its investments, almost all of which are co-investments between
the Company and AIG Global Real Estate and/or other clients of AIG
