Cablecom welcomes television over copper wire in a sophisticated TV market

Cablecom has provided television for over 40 years
and will soon present a revised version of its digital programmes.
Swisscom is launching its television over wire today thus
intensifying competition in the Swiss television market. The future
belongs to digital television.
Cablecom has provided television for over 40 years and was the
first operator to launch high-quality digital television in 1999. In
its position as market leader, the company has been successful in the
analogue television segment while at the same time pushing the
development of digital television. "We will soon make our digital
television programmes even more attractive and hence take an
important step forward in the digitalisation process", Rudolf
Fischer, Managing Director, cablecom, announces. At the present time,
the company is still holding negotiations with the price control
authorities. The company does not wish to comment on the current
talks.
Consumers benefit
With its top-notch picture and sound quality and its simple
operation of technical devices, digital clearly differs from analogue
television. Cablecom offers several products for different target
groups. All of these can be installed without the help of a
technician. Today, Swisscom is launching its television over copper
wire which was announced as early as 2003. Cablecom welcomes
competition in the sophisticated TV market and wishes Swisscom all
the best for the launch.
Good sports programmes can be received free of charge
All important football matches and crucial games of the national
ice hockey team will continue to be broadcast by SRG SSR idée suisse.
This means that viewers will not incur any extra expenses.
Enthusiastic sports fans will be able to receive all Teleclub sports
programmes as part of cablecom's digital programme selection as of
June 2007.
