Mühleberg Nuclear Power Plant
High-volume electricity production

In 2013 BKW Energie AG's Mühleberg nuclear power plant (KKM) achieved an impressive volume of electricity production, generating a gross 3,068 million kilowatt hours (kWh) and recording availability of 91 percent. Due to the temporary shutdowns for maintenance work on a circulation pump, the volume of electricity was slightly lower than in the record year of 2012.
Thanks to virtually fault-free operation and the ongoing measures to increase safety and reliability, Mühleberg nuclear power plant fed electricity to the grid for 7,944 hours in the course of 2013.
Over the operating years still to come, BKW will continue to guarantee the plant's safe operation through ongoing upgrades and maintenance work as well as regular system checks.
