Invitation to a press conference on 1 June 2001: Principality of Liechtenstein brings action against the Federal Republic of Germany

Dear Sir or Madam:
The Principality of Liechtenstein is bringing action against the
Federal Republic of Germany by filing an application to the
International Court of Justice in The Hague. This will be the first
time Germany has been a sole respondent before the United Nations'
principal judicial organ. Following the submission of the application
to the Court tomorrow, Friday 1 June 2001, we would like to invite
you to a press conference to give you the opportunity to find out
more about the substance of and background to the case.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Principality of
Liechtenstein, Dr. Ernst Walch, and the agent representing the
Principality before the International Court of Justice, the lawyer
Dr. Alexander Goepfert, will both be present at the press conference.
