Last Training & Testing completed: Participants of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland are ready to start in Valencia

The Yamaha bLU cRU program intends to bring forth the next generation of young motorcycling talent. The racing series for drivers aged from age 14 up already exists in this form in France, Italy and the Netherlands. In 2019, it takes place for the first time as a Swiss format with 6 races on European routes.
From the 24th to the 26th of March the last free trainings and tests were completed at the Grobnik Circuit in Rijeka. The drivers had the opportunity to meet their teams among Team principal Franz Hunkeler as well as the mechanics of YART and their brand new Yamaha R3 racing bike. At the same time, the riders were able to familiarize themselves with the racetrack, where the final race of the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland will take place in September.
The specialists of the official partners iXS, Pirelli and YART were on site and optimized the settings of their 320ccm race cars with the young riders. The hospitality package by eila provided food for all riders and their teams.
After the participants were dressed in their bespoke leather suits from iXS, the first of four training turns started on the Croatian racetrack. The experienced pilots Horst Saiger and Marvin Fritz took the lead for the first laps before a race start with all 24 riders was simulated at the beginning of the final round.
Due to the difficult track conditions no training could take place on the second day. Driving was impossible due to gale-force gusts, which in return made for extra time to take care of the individual motorcycle configuration and some last fine-tuning of the equipment.
On April 15, things get serious. In Valencia, the first round of the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland takes place on the Ricardo Tormo circuit with the "iXS Round". During a qualifying session and two subsequent races, the first contenders for the championship are supposed to emerge after three days.
