PRESS RELEASE
CompuGROUP Integrates more than 15,000 Spanish Doctors with Electronic
Patient Files for about 1 Million PatientsFebruary 22, 2008: CompuGROUP Holding
AG, a leading European eHealth provider, reports another major success in
its efforts to establish the electronic patient file in Europe:
CompuGROUP's Spanish subsidiary Medigest Consultores S.L. received the
contract for the electronic networking of more than 15,000 doctors via
such a solution from Madrid's Medical Association (ICOMEM). As a result of
this project, circa one million patients will be supplied with
CompuGROUP's vita-X healthcare file and networking solution Cordoba. The
Madrid region is the third largest among Spain's 17 regions. The project
might be expanded to other regions at any time. The multimedia patient file will be integrated in Axon, Medigest's
information system for doctors. In this way doctors will be able to use
all the electronic decision-making support offered by this innovative
system, thus helping them to avoid unnecessary double medical
examinations. Due to the doctor's access to the patient's medical history,
the patient will receive a more effective medical treatment. Moreover, the
electronic pharmaceutical can help to avoid the occurrence of unwanted
drug reactions. If the doctor cannot be connected directly to the network via the existing
practice software because it requires a program other than Axon, the file
can still be accessed via a web interface. For this purpose, the doctor
enters the data directly online into a web form and is subsequently
connected to all electronic, decision-critical information.
"This success of our Spanish colleagues demonstrates once more that
CompuGROUP consequently pursues its path of conquering more ground in
Europe with its unique solutions offered by the electronic patient file
vita-X and the networking solution Cordoba. Patients and doctors in the
Madrid region alike benefit from a holistically networked product
landscape which offers a completely new way of supporting medical
therapy," states Frank Gotthardt, Director of the Board of CompuGROUP
Holding AG.About CompuGROUP Holding AG
