Continuing strong growth, increase of sales and profit

e-m-s new media AG (WKN 521280/ ISIN DE0005212807), the specialist in home entertainment (production and sale of entertainment on DVD), increased its consolidated sales by 18 percent from 8.8 million Euro to 10.3 million Euro during the nine months from 01.01. to 31.09.2003. Thereby the core business rose in an dynamic manner by 77 percent from 5.8 million Euro to 10 million Euro during the first nine months.
The surplus for the period for the present fiscal year improved by round about 5 million Euro to 0.45 million Euro. Compared with the same period last year the results for the period improved clearly by 1.5 million Euro during the third quarter as well. However, during the period from 01.07. to 30.09.2003 a deficit of 0.29 million resulted at the end of period date.
The sales in home entertainment increased by 55 percent to 2.8 million Euro, but were slightly behind the expectations for the third quarter. However, the sales, realized during the whole period from 01.01.-30.09.2003, were above the own forecast. e-m-s new media AG achieved a record in sales of more than 1.5 million Euro in October 2003.
Because of the continuing good business development the management board increased its sales forecast for the whole financial year 2003 of more than 12 million Euro to 13,7 million Euro. The expected profit for the year 2003 has also been increased. The management, who hitherto had been expecting an EBIT margin from 3 to 5 percent, now expect an EBIT margin of more than 5 percent.
