Cablecom and sunrise announced their cooperation
today in the area of mobile telephony. This makes cablecom the first
large telecommunications provider in Switzerland to offer television,
Internet, fixed network and mobile telephony from a single source. To
inaugurate this cooperation, cablecom is launching a prepaid product
today.
Cablecom, Switzerland's largest cable network operator, has
concluded a partnership with sunrise for mobile telephony. As the
first move of the new partnership, the company is launching its own
prepaid product on the Swiss market today. This makes cablecom the
first telecommunications provider in Switzerland to offer television,
Internet, fixed network and mobile telephony - also known as
"quadruple play" - from a single source. Additional mobile phone
services "powered by sunrise", including postpaid subscriptions and
special packages for business customers, will be launched before the
end of the first half of 2006.
Switzerland's most comprehensive range of communications services
With the introduction of quadruple play, cablecom is clearly ahead
of former monopoly provider Swisscom. This means that, in the future,
cablecom customers will be able to receive all of their
communications solutions from a single provider. Cablecom's Managing
Director Rudolph Fischer said, "The future belongs to companies who
can offer customers all desired services independently of the
platform used. Sunrise offers a modern infrastructure with
outstanding coverage, and we are very happy to have a strong and
reliable partner that enables us to enter the mobile telephony
business."
Switzerland's lowest-priced prepaid product
By introducing mobile telephony, cablecom offers its customers
comprehensive and low-priced communications services from a single
source. This makes cablecom's prepaid product the least expensive one
available on the Swiss market. The rate per minute is only 35
centimes for calls on the Swiss fixed network and 44 centimes for
calls on all Swiss mobile networks. This service is available around
the clock and without any additional basic or connection charges.
This means that cablecom is roughly 20% cheaper than its competitors.

calling credit worth CHF 35 and express home delivery within two days
of registration.
