Jungfraubahn Holding AG

EANS-Adhoc: Jungfraubahn Holding AG
Jungfrau Railway Group achieves high revenue

ad-hoc disclosure transmitted by euro adhoc with the aim of a Europe-wide
distribution. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this
  announcement.
16.02.2010
In today´s letter to shareholders, the Jungfrau Railway Group
announced that it achieved a traffic revenue of CHF 102 million in
2009 - the second highest in the company´s history. This was only
exceeded in 2008, by just 1.1 per cent. The profit and details on the
result will be announced at the financial statement media conference
on 15 April 2010. In 2009, the high-Alpine world around the Aletsch
Glacier attracted more guests than in the previous year. Some 651,000
people visited the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe. In view of the
economic climate, the 2009 business year proved considerably better
than expected. The fear of swine flu, the economic crisis and the
strong Swiss franc led to the absence of many Asian guests. Thanks to
special offers in Switzerland and Europe, the Jungfrau Railway Group
was able to compensate for this drop. As well as the Jungfraujoch-Top
of Europe, our other excursion destinations, Kleine Scheidegg, First,
Harder Kulm and Winteregg were also well frequented. The First aerial
cableway even achieved a record: in 2009 it realized the best summer
in its history. The Annual General Meeting of Jungfraubahn Holding AG
will be held in Interlaken on 17 May 2010. The executive board will
propose to the general meeting the election of Peter Baumann as an
additional member of the executive board. Peter Baumann is an
engineer of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. He
lives in Grindelwald and thus would again assure representation of
this important municipality on the Jungfraubahn Holding AG Executive
Board. Peter Bauman has been an executive board member and marketing
and sales director at Garaventa AG since 2002. He will be able to
bring to our company his experience as an internationally active
businessman and his specific professional expertise. The complete
letter to shareholders can be read at www.jungfraubahn.ch under
