negotiations about sale of German access business

Haarlem/Netherlands, February 8, 2007. LYCOS Europe N.V. (ISIN NL000023319), one of Europe's leading portal providers and online advertisers, today announced to consider the sale of its German access business. The company is starting discussions with several third parties who are interested in analysing a possible take over of the access business.
In line with the strategic decision to strengthen its core businesses LYCOS Europe has decided not to further invest in the access business. LYCOS Europe has completed the sale of its Swedish access business to Glocalnet Scandinavia AB for about EUR 19 million in January 2007.
LYCOS Europe has been operating the Internet access business in Germany since 1999. At that time it started the narrow band business Comundo. In 2003 the broadband services of LYCOS DSL were added to the portfolio. The business has today about 37,900 broadband and about 23,800 narrowband customers and generates revenue of about EUR 6 million per year.
