Humanitarian Relief for Earthquake Victims

The management of Denver-based Newmont Mining Corporation, with the management and employees of Newmont in Indonesia express condolences to the people of Indonesia in particularly the provinces of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam and North Sumatra at this time of tragedy.
To assist the government and people of Indonesia Newmont Mining Corporation will donate Rp 5.0 billion in cash. The donation will be handed over to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources that coordinates humanitarian relief efforts in the mining sector to be forwarded to the Coordinating Ministry for People's Welfare. Although we know that nothing can truly replace what has been lost, we at Newmont hope that this donation will help in some small ways to relieve the suffering experienced by the people of the affected areas.
The management and employees of Newmont pray for the victims and safety of the bereaved families and fully support relief and recovery efforts by the government and other parties.
