Falck Renewables, London, has ordered fifty N80, N90 and N100 (nominal capacity of 2,500 kW) wind turbines from Nordex plus an option for a further fifty turbines from the same platform. The contract is worth around EUR 280 million or EUR 140 million without the option. Nordex is to install the systems between 2009 and 2011 across Europe. The contract covers projects which Falck Renewables is developing with local partners in its core markets including UK, France, Spain and Italy as well as other target countries.
Falck Renewables is already one of Nordex´s top customers. At the moment, Nordex is building four wind farms comprising over 100 turbines for Falck Renewables in the UK and Italy.
"We attach prime importance to forging a close partnership with existing customers as part of our international expansion efforts. In addition, the contract demonstrates the high quality of our multi-megawatt turbine technology," says Carsten Pedersen, COO Sales and Marketing at Nordex AG.
