At the upcoming IATA (International Air
Transport Association) flight scheduling conference in Singapore,
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) - Germany's largest airport - will be able to
offer the airlines of the world greater coordinated aircraft
capacity.  In the spring of 2002, the airport's official coordinated
aircraft capacity for awarding the time windows for take-offs and
landings - so-called "slots" - will be increased from 78 to 80
movements per hour between 14:00 and 22:00 daily.

In agreement with the State of Hesse, the German Federal Ministry
of Transport has now given Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services
Worldwide (the owner and manager of FRA) approval for this increase. 
The new regulation goes into effective in conjunction with the Summer
Timetable 2002, at the end of March.  Thus, it will be possible to
plan for up to 45 landings per hour instead of 43, during the
afternoon and evening peak traffic periods.

Fraport AG's Executive Board Chairman Dr. Wilhelm Bender said that
he is pleased with the federal transport ministry's decision.  He
emphasized that the experience of the past months has shown that the
overall airport system can easily handle this slight increase in
capacity.

Furthermore, the increase is completely in harmony with the
findings of the Mediation Group on Airport Expansion, which also came
out in favor of further optimization of FRA's existing runway system.
