Starmap Mobile Alliance baut durch die Aufnahme von Eurotel ihre Präsenz in die Tschechische Republik aus

Die Starmap Mobile Alliance gibt die Aufnahme von Eurotel mit sofortiger Wirkung bekannt. Einschliesslich sunrise besteht die Allianz jetzt aus elf führenden unabhängigen Betreibern und weitet die Reichweite ihrer durchgängigen mobilen Sprach- und Datendienste auf über 53 Millionen Kundinnen und Kunden aus.
Ziel der Starmap Mobile Alliance ist es, ihre Reichweite und Grösse in geografischen Kerngebieten auszuweiten sowie ihren Kundinnen und Kunden kontinuierlichen Zusatznutzen zu bieten. Ab sofort tritt Eurotel, der grösste Anbieter kabelloser Sprach- und Datendienste in der Tschechischen Republik, der Allianz von bisher zehn Betreibern als gleichwertiges Mitglied mit vollen Mitgliedsrechten bei. Eurotel wird sich fortan bei der Kooperation der Allianz hinsichtlich Roaming-, Beschaffungs-, Vertriebs- und Marketinginitiativen sowie am Rollout der Marke Starmap Mobile Alliance mit ihren wichtigsten Produkten und Diensten beteiligen.
«Der Beitritt von Eurotel unterstreicht unser Bestreben, unser Netzwerk in geografischen Schlüsselregionen zu erweitern, um unsere Präsenz und unser Leistungsangebot für Kundinnen und Kunden und Anbieter weiter auszubauen», sagte der Vorsitzende der Starmap Mobile Alliance, Rafael Wariwoda von ONE.
Eurotel Praha, spol. s r.o. ist der grösste Mobilfunkbetreiber der Tschechischen Republik mit über 4,3 Millionen angemeldeten Kundinnen und Kunden (Stand Ende Juni 2004) und einem Jahresumsatz 2003 von EUR 924 Mio.
Die Starmap Mobile Alliance umfasst elf Mitglieder: Amena (Spanien), Eurotel (Tschechische Republik), O2 (Deutschland, Grossbritannien und Irland), One (Österreich), Pannon GSM (Ungarn), SONOFON (Dänemark), sunrise (Schweiz), Telenor Mobil (Norwegen) und Wind (Italien), die zusammen über einen Kundenstamm von mehr als 53 Millionen Abonnenten verfügen.
Unter der Leitung eines Führungsgremiums, das sich aus Vertretern aller Betreiber zusammensetzt, will die Starmap Mobile Alliance mit ihrer Kooperation eine Umgebung für innovative, attraktive und einfach zu benutzende Dienste zur Verfügung stellen, damit sich ihre Kunden auch unterwegs wie zuhause fühlen. Pannon GSM, owned 100% by Telenor Mobile Norway, had by the end of 2003 approximately 36% share of the Hungarian mobile market, where the penetration exceeds 78%. Pannon GSM for already 10 years offers wide range of telecommunication services to customers from individual consumers to large size companies as well. Services can be voice or data services (for example HSCSD), based on dual-band GSM (900 and 1800), GPRS and recently EDGE technology. By the end of January 2004, the company had GSM roaming agreements with 271 mobile operators in 111 countries.
