PRESS RELEASE
Techniker Krankenkasse continues to place its trust in the Verax list to
      guard against chip card misuse
Coblenz - 02nd October 2007: CompuGROUP Holding AG, a leading European E-
health supplier announces another success of one of its innovative
products in the business field for the cost bearers of the healthcare
system: the Techniker Krankenkasse has its contract concerning the use of
the Verax list, a software solution for combating the occurrence of fraud
in connection with patient insurance cards, through to 31st December 2008.
Care services and support to the Techniker Krankenkasse are provided by
      the CompuGROUP subsidiary GTI AG.
The Verax list is software for contract data and supplementary payment
management, jointly developed by CompuGROUP and HABA Computer AG
(Hamburg). Verax is divided into a positive and a negative list. The
negative list identifies cards belonging to patients who change insurance
company, lost, stolen or misplaced cards as well as cards that have been
replaced by a new one. The positive list checks whether a particular
patient really is exempt from the requirement to pay supplemental charges.
In collaboration with its cooperation partners, CompuGROUP achieves
coverage of over 100,000 doctors' surgeries in Germany with Verax. The
Verax list is also used in dental surgeries and hospitals.
The fraudulent use of patients' health insurance cards has long become a
significant economic factor within the German healthcare system: illegal
use of invalid cards as well as fraud relating to supplementary payments
deprives the system of around one billion euros per year. The Techniker
Krankenkasse was the first large German health insurance company to
recognise the benefit of innovative E-health technology in combating
fraud, and has been using the Verax list since 2004, a step that results
in annual savings of over 40 million euros.
"This contract extension with the Techniker Krankenkasse demonstrates once
again that our development of Verax has produced an innovative and
dependable technology that has gained a high degree of trust within the
cost bearer domain due to its successful use. E-health technologies are
the key to huge savings and efficiency increases within the German
healthcare system - for which the Verax list provides daily, in-practice
proof," highlights Jan Broer, executive board member for networking at
      CompuGROUP Holding AG.
"We decided in favour of the Verax list because the application paid for
itself within just a short period of time. The money that we paid out for
the software and the introduction of the Verax list has long since been
recouped through the avoidance of fraud," emphasises Dr. Frank Verheyen,
responsible for the Veray list and pharmacy invoicing at the Techniker
      Krankenkasse.
