Eindhoven, September 27, 2002. Aeco N.V. announces, that its 100%
subsidiary aeco germany GmbH (Aichach, Germany) - a producer of
inspection- and test equipment for the optical media industry has
filed for insolvency on September 27, 2002 with the local
administration of Augsburg. Reasons for this step is liquidity
shortage, which was mainly caused by the adverse market and
investment climate in the optical media industry and the insolvency
of major customer Toolex N.V. in 2001.
For Aeco N.V the insolveny of aeco germany GmbH has no adverse
effects on liquidity or continuation of operations.
