Credaris AG acquires 100% of the shares in the Lausanne-based credit intermediary Milenia SA. Milenia founder Jérémie Monney joins the Board of Directors of Credaris AG. Marc Hallauer remains CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Credaris AG.

Credaris and Milenia, Switzerland's two leading credit intermediaries, have signed a purchase agreement whereby Credaris will acquire 100% of the shares in Milenia SA. Milenia will continue operating as an independent company managed by its founder Jérémie Monney, who will become a member of the Board of Directors of Credaris AG.

Milenia SA was founded in 2017 by Jérémie Monney and has established itself as the most successful and fastest-growing credit intermediary in French-speaking Switzerland.

Credaris AG was established in 2014 as part of the Comparis Group and has since advanced to become the largest broker of personal loans in Switzerland. In 2022, the management team acquired Credaris AG as part of a management buyout supported by Brera Partners. Credaris' cooperation with Comparis will continue following the merger of Credaris and Milenia.

The merger of Credaris and Milenia will create a new player in the consumer loan market, with around 80 employees in Zurich and Lausanne arranging an annual loan volume of ca. CHF 400 million. Both companies are leaders in their respective linguistic regions and have a nationwide offering and provide advice in several languages.

Leading the industry consolidation process by investing in technology

'We expect to see significant consolidation in the consumer loan intermediary industry, driven in particular by a need to invest in technology, regulatory pressures and age structures,' comments Marc Hallauer, CEO of Credaris. In the context of this market forecast, the merged company is aiming to play a leading role and expand its position on an ongoing basis. On the one hand, the Group will offer the most attractive range of products in the market. On the other hand, the Group aims to become the leading partner for borrowers and providers alike by investing in digitalisation and technology.

'We are significantly expanding our pool of expertise and will have the financial resources at our disposal to make investments in technology and also to be an attractive employer for the talent we seek,' Hallauer continues.

Start of a new growth phase

Combining the expertise and strengths of both companies will form the basis for further growth, which will take the companies' customer experience and services to the next level. 'I am looking forward to bringing our two success stories together and continuing our collaboration,' says Monney.

The two companies have already been collaborating for five years now and have established a strong basis of trust during this time. 'Joining forces in what is a very competitive business is the next logical step in a cooperation that has been a success story to date,' says Hallauer.

For Jérémie Monney, CEO of Milenia, too, the merger with Credaris marks the next logical step in his company's story. 'Since Milenia was established five years ago, our team has arranged a loan volume in excess of CHF 300 million - a feat only previously achieved by Credaris. The merger is a fantastic opportunity for us, especially given that we are now part of one of the undisputed leaders in the Swiss credit intermediary market,' comments Monney. 'The long-standing, trust-based cooperation with Marc Hallauer and Credaris will provide the foundation for the path that we intend to follow together going forward.'
