Heather Beach, Brand Director, Occupational Safety & Health Portfolio at UBM Live, said: "2013 has been yet another fantastic year for Safety & Health Expo, once again welcoming a wide range of practitioners, manufacturers and distributors from across all industry sectors to debate, discuss and learn from one another on the key challenges facing health and safety. The increase in attendee seniority further cements our position as THE leading event for the industry and reflects our continued investment in the creation of a high-quality event with innovation and thought leadership at its heart."

In 2013 Safety & Health Expo introduced several new educational features focused on providing examples of innovation and thought leadership in action; these included the Business Driver Safety Zone, led by Fleet21 and Honda and the re-branded Health & Wellbeing Theatre which featured a range of organisations presenting including Posturite and Let's Get Healthy. Additionally, an increase in interactive sessions on behavioural safety and safety culture within the Arco Academy and the return of the hugely popular SHP Legal Arena and Barbour Directors Club continued to pull in the crowds.

"The educational aspects of the show are really important to us. The information presented is from experts with first-hand experience, meaning I can get it right the first time. I've seen so many new things that we can use, and that the industry should also be using," highlighted Sandra Meaney, Director at Scottish Medical Training (SMT).

Simon Turner, Managing Director of Fleet21; "At Fleet21 we are trying to engage with our customers through educating them, rather than pushing the hard sell. We've done a lot of research over the past 12 months in conjunction with UBM. This research gave us a good understanding of where the knowledge gaps in companies are and we used this information to shape the educational content within the new Business Driver Safety Zone at Safety & Health Expo. This is our first time at the show and it has exceeded all of our expectations. The quality of people coming through the doors, sitting in the theatres and talking to us has been exceptional."

As the event prepares for a new era with a move to London's ExCeL, many exhibitors have already pledged their support with 70% of this year's exhibitors already confirmed to participate in 2014 including Scott Safety Ltd, Posturite UK Ltd, BM Polyco, Denios, RRC Training, Safety Media Ltd, The British Red Cross Society, NEBOSH and Cirrus Research Ltd -along with many others.

"Draeger have been attending Safety & Health Expo for a number of years as a key exhibitor. It is crucial for us that visitors to the Expo are looking to find solutions to problems around their health and safety personnel issues. This year we met a great variety of people on the stand, specifically health and safety managers and decision makers from different organisations all looking for relevant solutions for their current health and safety issues," added Fran Jonas, Marketing Communications Manager for Draeger.

In 2014, Safety & Health Expo will continue to co-locate with the other shows in the Protection & Management Series including Facilities Show, IFSEC International, FIREX International and the recently announced Energy & Environment Expo.

As part of the move, the show is also pleased to announce that the annual IOSH conference will also be held alongside Safety & Health Expo, broadening the appeal of both events to the widest audience and presenting a comprehensive offering for the safety and health practitioner.

Alongside the exclusive support of IOSH, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) have also confirmed their support for 2014.

"We are really looking forward to building on this great foundation when we move Safety & Health Expo to the capital next year. We already had great support from the industry and it has been incredible to see so many senior level delegates engaged and contributing to the show this year. We have lots of plans for Safety & Health Expo 2014 and we look forward to announcing these over the coming months," added Beach.
