Ad-hoc-release pursuant to § 15 of the German Securities Trading Act 
(WpHG)
London, 18 March 2010 - Air Berlin´s total revenue in the financial 
year 2009 decreased by 4.4 per cent from EUR 3.39 billion to EUR 3.24
billion (the application of IFRIC 13 led to a reduction of EUR 12.2 
million). At the same time, due to its efficiency programme, Air 
Berlin was able to reduce the overall operating expenses at EBITDAR 
level by 6.2 per cent to EUR 2.78 billion (EUR 2.96 billion in 2008).
The EBITDAR therefore increased by 8.4 per cent to EUR 503.7 million 
in 2009 from EUR 464.6 million in the previous year.
The result from operating activities (EBIT) reached EUR 28.5 million 
in 2009 from EUR 2.0 million in 2008 (the application of IFRIC 13 led
to a reduction of EUR 12.2 million). The financial result improved 
from EUR -72.0 million to EUR -51.0 million.
The pre-tax earnings amounted to EUR -21.7 million in 2009, compared 
to EUR -70.0 million in the previous year. After a tax revenue of EUR
12.2 million, the net loss for the reporting year was EUR -9.5 
million, compared to EUR -83.5 million in the previous year.
Earnings per share, based on the average number of 73.523 million 
shares outstanding in 2009, therefore amount to EUR -0.13, compared 
with EUR -1.27 in the previous year. In 2008, the average number of 
outstanding shares was 65.539 million.
Last year's figures have been restated in line with valuation changes
under IFRIC 13 ("Customer Loyalty Programmes"). Air Berlin will 
publish detailed information on the full year results as well as the 
complete annual report as of 31 December 2009 on 25 March 2010 
starting from 7:30 a.m. (CET) on the Internet at ir.airberlin.com.
