Wettenberg (euro adhoc) - (Wettenberg, October 18 2011) - The PVA TePla Group,
which specializes in crystallization systems for semi-conductor and solar
silicon as well as vacuum and high-temperature systems, is supplying a Russian
company with crystal-growing systems for the production of germanium crystals.
In the second half of 2011, a series of crystal-growing systems will be supplied
to a Russian company that ranks as a leading producer of germanium. Our systems
are designed for high-tech applications in the optoelectronic industry as well
as in the production of the raw materials for concentrator cells in
photovoltaics. Germanium-based concentrator cells can achieve efficiency levels
in excess of 30%. These high-performance PV cells are primarily used in
satellite technology. Our customer´s technological development is supported by
an investment package from the Russian company Rusnano.
