Despite the worldwide moratorium on whale hunting put into place by the International Whaling Commission (IWC), effective since 1986, over 2'000 great whales are being killed every year as well as tens of thousands small whales and dolphins. The Public court case builds on latest aspects and information and on evidence not usually available.
Accused: Ministers of Fisheries of incriminated nations: Mr Hirotaka Akamatsu, Japan, Ms Lisbeth Berg-Hansen, Norway, Mr. Jón Bjarnason, Iceland, Ms Ane Hansen, Greenland, Mr Jacob Vestergaard, Faroe Islands.
