Against the background of the deteriorating economic environment, MPC Capital has adjusted its placement forecast as well as its profit forecasts for the operating business and for the Group net income downwards. The company now expects to raise between EUR 750 million and EUR 850 million in investor capital for placement and to report a net income for the year in the EUR 18 million to EUR 23 million range.
The market environment for financial services has been further clouded by the continuing insecurity in the worldwide financial markets and a weakening of economic activity. This has resulted in growing reservations on the part of private investors, leading to a much slower pace of placement in recent weeks.
MPC Capital AG plans not to pay out a dividend for the financial year 2008. This will help the company strengthen its equity position once more clearly against the background of banks tightening their lending across all markets.
