The Segment Semperflex of the publicly listed Semperit Group has achieved a new
production record. For the first time in the company's history, the world's
leading manufacturer of hydraulic and industrial hoses produced more than 100
million metres of hoses within a period of one year. The new all-time-high was
already achieved at the beginning of December 2014 after a period of 11 months.
Since 1996 Semperflex has increased its hose production volume more than tenfold
from 10 million metres to more than 100 million metres in 2014. This record
output would enable Semperit hoses to circle the globe about two and a half
times.
"The new production record is the result of our successful growth strategy. We
managed to expand and increase our market share even in economically difficult
times because we positioned ourselves to operate in an even more global and
customer-oriented manner. We are further strongly expanding production
capacities because we remain optimistic concerning our long-term growth
potential. Additional capacity will be available as of the first quarter of 2015
at the Odry site, which is already Europe's largest hose production plant", says
Semperit CEO Thomas Fahnemann in commenting on the success of Semperflex in
surpassing the 100 million metre milestone.
Recently business of the Segment Semperflex developed more favourably than the
overall market. Semperflex counteracted the weaker market development by
intensifying its sales and marketing activities as a means of increasing its
market share.

continually expanding production capacities and increasing its presence on
growth markets. In 2013 the Semperflex segment generated revenue of EUR 186
million (about 21% of Group revenue) and an EBITDA of EUR 42 million.
