Mokambo Project - Near Surface Drill Results Update - Cobalt Identified
Abbotsford, Canada (ots/PRNewswire)
ICS Copper Systems Ltd. (ICX:TSX.V) is pleased to announce new assay results on their Mokambo Project situated in Mufulira, Zambia. The 2007-2008 shallow drilling program is 70% complete with respect to the initial delineation drill program. Assay results are still backlogged and cover only 25% of the drill program. The backlog is presently being reduced as quickly as possible. The limited results though, have identified some large intersections of copper. Along with the copper, significant cobalt mineralization has also been identified. Highlights include drill road number 6 showing 3.143% copper over 4.58 meters, 1.23% copper over 13.82 meters, 0.301% copper over 41.42 meters and 0.036% cobalt over 3.67 meters.
The drill program has 20 roads, assay results for roads 7 onwards will be released in due course once assay results are known.

At the end of this phase of drilling, a NI 43-101 Technical Report on the oxide copper and cobalt mineral resources will be undertaken. A further definition drilling program will be undertaken to move the copper and cobalt mineralization into higher (i.e. measured and indicated) categories for mine design purposes and eventual ore reserve estimate under NI 43-101.
A second drill is being sourced to start the confirmation drilling of the sulphide copper mineralization after the rainy season is over, in April. Permission is being sought by the Zambian Chamber of Mines to re-assay the historic drill core they are storing, as part of the confirmation drilling. A 3D computer block model has been constructed from the historic drill logs acquired by the company in 2007. There are several gaps along strike of the mineralized bodies, identified in the block model, that were not historically drilled. ICS plans to drill these areas as soon as possible to increase the present historical estimate.
Mr. Graham Chisholm, President comments "The identification of cobalt in numerous holes is good news and will add value to the profitability of the Mokambo Project."
David Makepeace, P.Eng. M.Eng, a director of the Company and its acting Chief Operating Officer, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, supervised the preparation of the technical information in this news release.
