Oldenburg, Prenzlau, 10 October 2006. "aleo solar AG has an extremely
good supply of solar cells for 2007 and 2008 from its medium- and
long-term agreements", said Jakobus Smit, board member at the solar
module specialist and systems supplier. "The current shift from a
seller’s to a buyer’s market allows us to turn down quotes from solar
cell manufacturers that are clearly too expensive even at short
notice. Only when we are able to purchase at a fair price, we are
also able to sell at a good price." For example, aleo solar has
decided not to buy any solar cells from the Taiwanese E-Ton Solar
Tech. Co., Ltd. at this time. The decision will not affect the supply
of solar cells for the planned annual production. Only four weeks
ago, the company announced the conclusion of a cell supply contract
with Q-Cells for 100 MWp.
The Company aleo solar AG (previously S.M.D.) maintains distribution
offices in Oldenburg (Lower Saxony) and manufacturing facilities in
Prenzlau (Brandenburg). Founded in September 2001, the company
manufactures solar modules based on silicon cells. Around 230
employees currently work at both locations. The solar module
manufacturing facility in Prenzlau has an annual capacity of 90
megawatts, which makes it one of the largest facilities of its kind.
In 2005, aleo solar AG achieved sales of EUR 106.9 million. aleo
solar AG (DE000A0JM634) has been listed on the Prime Standard segment
of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since July 2006. By acquiring shares
in the Brandenburg-based technology company Johanna Solar Technology
GmbH, aleo solar AG has attained access to the promising future of
thin-film technology.
