Generali Holding Vienna AG ups dividend by 20 per cent

The Managing Board of the listed holding company Generali Holding Vienna AG, Vienna, has decided to recommend to its Supervisory Board and AGM that the dividend for the 2005 financial year be upped to EUR 0.50 per no-par share. That represents an increase of nearly 20 per cent from the dividend declared for the previous year, which was EUR 0.42 per no-par share. This translates into a doubling of the company's dividend whithin the space of two years.

It will allow the company's shareholders to share in the benefits of further increases in profit of ordinary activities, which grew from EUR 39.3 million in 2004 to EUR 134.9 million in 2005, and in net earnings for the year, which advanced from EUR 27.0 million to EUR 31.9 million. The Generali Holding Vienna AG share has been listed on the Vienna stock exchange since 9 February 1886, that is for exactly 120 years.

The Annual Financial Statements for 2005 will be published on 23 February 2006.
