Dettingen/Erms (Germany), August 5, 2010 +++ ElringKlinger AG, Dettingen/Erms, has received the approval of the German antitrust authorities for the execution of the planned takeover of the Static Metal Gaskets division of Freudenberg & Co. KG, Weinheim. The Static Metal Gaskets division of the Freudenberg Group encompasses the cylinder-head and exhaust system gaskets business. The planned takeover had been announced on July 12, 2010.
Thus, the signing of the contractual agreement and the execution of the takeover are no longer subject to the proviso of official approval, as a result of which ElringKlinger anticipates that the acquisition can come into legal effect on October 1, 2010.
In implementing the planned acquisition, ElringKlinger will strengthen its international position within the field of cylinder-head gaskets and highly heat-resistant specialty gaskets for engines and exhaust systems.
