Cologne, 4 November 2004 In the third quarter of 2004, antwerpes ag, Cologne, (ISIN DE0005471007) achieved sales totalling 2,6 million euro. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to 0,2 million euro and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to 0,1 million euro. Profit per share amounted to 3 cent. For the first nine months of the 2004 financial year, sales totalled 7,8 million euro. Compared to the same period in the previous year, sales have decreased by 22% or 2,1 million euro. However, compared to the first nine months of 2003, the result has clearly improved. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) improved by 40%, rising from 0,3 million euro to 0,2 million euro (an increase of 0,5 million euro). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by 0,5 million euro, rising from 0,3 million euro to 0,2 million euro. The result from ordinary business activities showed an increase of 140%, rising to 0,8 million euro (0,3 million euro). Profit per share amounts to 7 cent (2 cent). At the end of September 2004, liquid funds and fixed-asset and current-asset securities, totalling 30,0 million euro or 5,08 euro per share, were 0,6 million euro below the level of the 2nd quarter of 2004 (30,6 million euro). This was, amongst other things, caused by seasonal effects and the purchase and financing of editworks GmbH.
