CSD Epitaxy Inc. Announces Additional System Order From GlobiTech Inc.
MORGAN HILL, CA (ots)
CSD Epitaxy Inc. (CSD Epitaxy), a global provider of epitaxial processing equipment, announced that GlobiTech Incorporated, a supplier of discrete and CMOS silicon epitaxial wafers used by semiconductor manufacturers, has ordered an additional EpiPro production system after successfully commissioning of the first EpiPro system in the GlobiTech fab.
"Part of our strategy is to become the No. 3 supplier of worldwide discrete wafer epi sales by the end of the year 2005," said Danny Kenney, GlobiTech's vice president of manufacturing. "In CSD Epitaxy we found an equipment partner that will share the development burden and commercial rewards of providing the discrete device manufacturers with high-quality, cost-competitive epitaxial films. We have pooled our resources in order to meet this aggressive goal, which could not have been achieved individually."
GlobiTech ordered the second EpiPro 5000 system after obtaining excellent process results from the initial system. "GlobiTech has demonstrated to customers results from the EpiPro batch reactor that are near the quality obtained from single-wafer systems. In particular, we are impressed with the layer uniformities and surface defect quality that the CSD/GlobiTech team has been able to demonstrate. This quality level combined with the throughput of the EpiPro delivers an excellent quality and cost advantage in the thick epi market," said Curtis Hall, GlobiTech's vice president of engineering.
