WM-data Joins IBM's ISV Advantage Initiative Helping Small/Medium Companies and Public Sector to Become On Demand Businesses by Offering an Open Solution for Content Management

Stockholm, Sweden (ots)

WM-data joined IBM's ISV Advantage
Initiative, a program designed to provide independent software
vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help meet the
specific information technology needs of small and medium businesses
(SMB) and public sector customers.
Enabling jContentM on IBM's middleware; WebSphere Portal,
WebSphere Application Server, DB2 Universal Database and IBM eServers
running Linux will help WM-data offer the market a high quality,
flexible and cost efficient Content Management Solution. This is
possible due to the company's commitment to open IT platforms.
Customers are seeking solutions that help them better integrate
processes and applications internally and externally and allow them
to quickly respond to changing market opportunities on demand.
"Efficient Content Management Solutions based on open platforms is
key if companies are going to become an on demand business in the
future," says Lars Dahlberg IBM Alliance Manager for WM-data. "It is
also important to package Content Management Solutions, so that
companies can start with some basic functions and then grow later
when they get more advanced needs."
The Content Management system jContentM contains all the
functionality needed to build and maintain a constantly changing
website. The system enables business users to create and approve
documents, get them to the Web faster and keep a dynamic inventory of
the content.
"The use of jContentM makes it easy to create personalized and
interactive services for employees, partners and customers. It
supports the business processes and offers a large set of portal
features on a scalable, reliable platform. You are able to start
quickly and the solution grows with your needs. The package of
jContentM together with the IBM products is to be launched in October
2004," says Lars Holmström, jContentM sales at WM-data.
"To be able to efficiently deploy these kinds of solutions there
is an obvious benefit if they are based on open standards and open
platforms like J2EE and Linux. Total cost of ownership will be lower
and solutions will be easier to integrate with existing
infrastructure," says Lesley Norris, director of ISV & Developer
Relations, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
WM-data will also work closely with IBM to expand its visibility
in target vertical industries through various co-marketing and sales
activities for Content Management Solutions.
The IBM WebSphere and DB2 product families includes products that
are designed and priced specifically for small and medium businesses
-- easy to install and manage, scalable to grow with a business, rich
in functionality, and based on open standards to allow integration
with existing software and hardware platforms.
ISV Advantage is administered by PartnerWorld for Developers, the
developer resource for IBM Business Partners. It is a worldwide
program designed to help software developers reach broader markets,
lower their costs of doing business, and take their products to
market faster. For more information, visit
