Coop speaks Orange: More and more businesses are switching over to Orange

Lausanne (ots)

Network coverage and quality, price/performance
ratio, customer orientation and flexibility - these were the criteria
used by Coop to choose Orange for all of its mobile communications
needs. The changeover will be complete by the end of February when
some 2'200 Coop employees will speak Orange.
The intensive investigation and tender phase undertaken by Coop
for its mobile communication needs lasted six months. This was a
demanding project during which Coop not only compared the offers made
by the different network providers for existing mobile telephony
(GSM), but also their GSM and GPRS technology which would replace
paging systems as well as their DECT telephony based on wireless,
fixed network stations. In December 2002, Coop finally decided to
move all 2'200 of its staff who use mobile communications to Orange.
The switch was begun at the end of January and should be complete
by the end of February. The Coop Administration and Production and
Logistics staff will benefit not only from the advantages of a
virtual private network (VPN), but also individual GPRS services.
"Coop as a major new business customer represents a milestone for
us on our Business-to-Business market. With Coop we have won over a
customer who did not only require the more traditional mobile
telephony services, rather was keen to harness other applications as
well. Despite the tough competition, our flexible and dynamic
approach made us stand out from the rest. And of course, we will take
every measure necessary to ensure the entire Coop Group enjoys the
outstanding quality of our services day in, day out," explained
Andreas S. Wetter, Orange CEO.
Coop is yet another prominent addition to the rapidly growing list
of Orange business customers, which boasts names such as Cap Gemini,
Caterpillar, Greutol, Hewlett Packard, Linkvest, Microsoft,
Regionalverkehr Mitteland, Setz Transporte.
