Ludwigsburg, 26. August 2002 - The result of Jetter AG (Neuer Markt: JTT) for the first fiscal quarter is in line with the previous year, as announced earlier. Jetter keeps acting in a difficult economic environment, which is marked by the investment stop of semiconductor manufacturers. During the first quarter of the current fiscal year (April - June 2002), Jetter sold goods and services for 3.4 Mio. Euro, 5% less than in the same period of the previous year. Since large portions of JetWeb development are meanwhile finished and the products being marketed, development cost is no longer capitalised to a significant extent. As a consequence, total output sank from 4.3 Mio. Euro in the previous year to 3.4 Mio. Euro. This decline could be absorbed by cost-cutting in the personnel and general areas, so EBIT remained all but unchanged at -1.8 Mio. Euro. As announced on 12 August 2002, Jetter has in the face of this development initiated far-reaching cost-cutting measures, which shall further reduce personnel cost by one fourth and heavily restructure foreign subsidiaries. The restructuring implied in this cuts package will ensure the translation of the companys technological advantage into economic success in a continuously difficult world-wide market situation.
