SAS is introducing product and service improvements for frequent travellers

Zurich (ots)

Starting March 25, 2007 SAS' customers can look
forward to smoother, more efficient travel as well as a more
enjoyable flight. The airline is making a number of improvements to
its products and service throughout the travel chain. They range from
a convenient and innovative check-in notification service via email
or SMS (from June 2007) to free Internet access and
broadband-telephony in SAS Business Lounges (from March 27, 2007).
SAS recognises that today's business travellers are looking for
ways to save time in all phases of their travel - this includes the
planning and booking stage as well as ground procedures and airport
formalities.
The newly designed SAS website, with an improved overview showing
available prices spanning several days, is already being successively
rolled out in markets throughout Europe. The new site makes online
bookings easier and offers access to comprehensive travel
information.
Other areas in which technology is opening up new possibilities
for more efficient travel are e-mail and the mobile phones. SAS is
enhancing its mobile services, which already include SMS information,
check-in and a mobile portal. From June 2007, at the time of booking,
passengers will be able to register for a new check-in notification
service. They will receive an SMS or an e-mail (22 hours before
departure) informing them that Internet check-in service for their
flight is open. The passenger can then check in via their mobile with
just one click and have an itinerary sent to them via SMS. Those who
receive check-in notification via email won't need to log in or give
booking details but can access the seat plan for their flight
directly.
Another popular service element SAS will be extending is Fast
Track security. This service is now available at Copenhagen and
Stockholm airports to EuroBonus Gold members and those travelling on
an SAS Business or Economy Extra ticket. As from 26th March, Fast
Track in Brussels will be available for the same categories of
passengers as in Scandinavia: EuroBonus Gold members and those
travelling on SAS Business or Economy Extra tickets. In Zurich the
service is open to EuroBonus Gold members and those travelling on a
Business ticket. In London and Amsterdam Fast Track is available to
passengers travelling on a Business ticket. SAS plans to successively
extend the service to cover other European airports.
From March 27, all SAS Business Lounges will offer free of charge
wireless LAN Internet access as well as telephony via Skype.
Furthermore, passengers travelling with SAS in Business and
Economy Extra will only need to be at the gate 15 minutes before
departure.
Onboard service is also being enhanced. Passengers in Economy will
be offered a new Buy on Board service with an attractive range of
food and beverage items. Economy Extra passengers will enjoy
nutritious, salad based cold meals and individualized service from
assigned crew. Business passengers will have extra privacy and
seclusion thanks to a new cabin divider. They will enjoy a high level
of comfort and personalized service. Upgraded meals will be served on
porcelain.
With these and a number of other forthcoming new services SAS is
leading the way with regard to smooth and hassle free air travel
to/from the Nordic countries.
SAS offers daily non-stop flights to Copenhagen, as from CHF158,
to Stockholm as from CHF 197,to Helsinki as from CHF 199 and to Oslo
as from CHF 181 (incl. all taxes and bookable on www.flysas.ch). SAS
departures out of Switzerland are Zurich and Geneva.
Out of Copenhagen, SAS operates direct to New York, Washington DC,
Seattle, Chicago, Bangkok, Tokio, Beijing and as from October 2007
also to Dubai. Out of Stockholm, SAS offers non-stop flights to New
York, Chicago und as from March 2007also to Beijing. More information
