TÜV Product Service issues 100.000th Product Safety Certificate to Samsung

TÜV Product Service GmbH, one of the world's leading international organisations for testing, evaluation and certification today issued the 100.000th product certificate to Samsung Electronic Co. Ltd. Dr. Ruprecht Schattner, CEO and President of Product Service handed over the certificate to Dr. Chin Daeje, President and CEO of Samsungs Electronics Co., Ltd. at a formal ceremony in Suwon-City, Korea attended by Franz-Hermann Hirlinger, Director of State of Bavaria Seoul Office. TÜV Product Service and Samsung have been working successfully together for over four years and this occasion marks a new milestone in the history of both companies.
TÜV Product Service GmbH certifies a whole range of products for Samsung, including home appliances such as washing machines, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners and refrigerators as well as electrical and electronic appliances such as cathode ray tubes (CRT) and LCD's. The celebrated 100.000th certificate was issued for a plasma display panel (PDP) for a Samsung TV monitor, which successfully fulfilled the requirements of the EN Standard 60950/All:1997 for electrical safety.
Founded in 1989 as a member of TÜV Süddeutschland Group which has a more than 130 years history, TÜV Product Service provides its services all over the world. The Korea branch of TÜV Product Service,- TÜV Korea Ltd.- provides Korean based manufacturers with the necessary product and management systems certification for them to access all world markets.
