Berlin, September 9, 2004 - The Supervisory Board and Management Board of Beta Systems Software AG (Prime Standard: BSS, ISIN: DE 0005224406) hereby announce the appointment of Mr. Dietmar Breyer as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Systems Software AG. Effective from September 15, 2004, Mr. Breyer will be responsible for activities relating to sales, services and marketing.

Dietmar Breyer (Dipl.-Informatiker - degree in computer science), aged 44, formerly held the post of CEO at Kleindienst Datentechnik AG, an enterprise acquired by Beta Systems at the beginning of 2004. His area of responsibility at Kleindienst encompassed strategic development, marketing, sales, technology, investor relations, and activities associated with the Enterprise Systems business unit. Prior to that, he had been Managing Director of FileNet GmbH and had held various management positions at Interleaf GmbH, CGI Deutschland GmbH, and IBM Deutschland GmbH.
