ebrary(tm) (www.ebrary.com), a leading

Under terms of the agreements, Coutts Library Services, which has

resell the ebrarian service to libraries throughout the U.K., Europe,
North America and the Middle East; iGroup, one of the largest
providers of information services in the Asia-Pacific, is
distributing the service throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand;
E-libro.net, a leading provider of information services for the
Spanish language market, is distributing the ebrarian service
throughout Latin America and Spanish language libraries in the U.S.
Additionally, E-libro is licensing the ebrarian platform to market
the service to Spanish speaking customers and is providing ebrary
with Spanish language content to distribute via its online channels.
"As an ebrary distributor and customer, we are very excited about
this new service. Among other benefits, ebrarian integrates with
libraries' existing catalog systems and digital resources and allows
simultaneous, multi-user access to full-text books and other
documents from world-class publishers - the majority of which were
published within the past two years," said Eduardo Varela-Cid, editor
of E-libro. "As an ebrary publishing partner, we are pleased that we
can now distribute our Spanish language content to vast online
markets in a highly secure, copyright protected environment."
"iGroup is extremely excited in the partnership with ebrary. As a
major provider of information services in the Asia Pacific region, we
are constantly looking for new and innovative products to offer our
customers," said William Ho, Director of iGroup. "We believe the
market is now ready for digital content. We are also certain that
with ebrary's rich collection and its unique subscription model, our
customers too will be excited with the service."
In a related press release issued April 2, ebrary announced that
six regional library networks are distributing the ebrarian service
to more than 6,000 member libraries in the U.S. combined. The press
release is available at www.ebrary.com.
"One of the greatest potentials that the Internet has to offer is
the democratization of information, not just locally but
internationally as well," said Christopher Warnock, CEO of ebrary.
"With these new partnerships ebrary will begin the process of opening
new markets to valuable ideas and authoritative information that has
never before been available online, worldwide."
