Frankfurt Airport's (FRA) traffic results for October 2001
continue to be characterized by the effects of the September 11
terrorist attacks. Since these attacks, passenger traffic has dropped
noticeably. The daily traffic decline is about 14 percent. For the
entire year 2001, Fraport AG expects passenger traffic to slip
slightly by a low single-figure rate.
As a result of the economic situation in Germany and recessionary
signs in world trade, airfreight tonnage at FRA dropped by 11.7
percent in October.
FRA's punctuality performance continued to increase. Compared to
last year (28 percent), only 19 percent of FRA's departing and
arriving aircraft were late in October.
