Mühleberg Nuclear Power Plant

The Mühleberg Nuclear Power Plant, operated by BKW Inc., produced 3,155 million kilowatt hours (KWh) of electricity in 2014. This is the best production result in the company's history.
Thanks to fault-free operation and continued measures to increase the reliability and availability of the plant, the Mühleberg Nuclear Power Plant fed electricity into the power grid for 8,146 hours in 2014. To ensure network stability, output was reduced nine times over the course of the year in order to offset the irregular feed-in from new renewable energies.
BKW will continue to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant for the coming years of operation until 2019 through retrofitting, preventative maintenance and regular system checks.
