Schaffner Group sells Swiss properties: Espace Real Estate acquires Schaffner properties in Luterbach

The Schaffner Group (SWX Swiss Exchange: SAHN)
has sold its Swiss properties at the company's headquarters in
Luterbach to the real estate investment company Espace Real Estate
AG, Bienne (www.ere.ch). Schaffner's decision to sell its entire real
estate holdings came after sales negotiations for properties not
essential to operations had revealed that this would prove to be a
better overall solution. At the same time, the Schaffner Group signed
a long-term lease agreement for its operational headquarters as well
as its development and production facilities in Luterbach. According
to Martin Zwyssig, Chief Financial Officer of the Schaffner Group,
the sale of the Group's Swiss properties is expected to influence the
Schaffner Group's 2005/2006 net profit by an amount in the
single-digit millions.
